Youth Ambassadors

About a year and a half ago, the Dutch Host Committee began organizing the Tenth World Harp Congress. At the previous Congress in Dublin, the Youth Ambassadors Programme was introduced, to promote the World Harp Congress among young harpists and to strengthen this important contact.

A questionnaire has been sent to harpists of the next generation and posted on the Internet forum. There were many reactions and among them some very interesting ideas that have been included in the next Congress.

The main venue Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ will provide a special lounge for young visitors where they can meet and hang out.

The new beautiful Amsterdam Library, less than five minutes walking distance from the hall, offers free Internet access without any registration. It’ll be open from 10:00 - 22:00 every day.

The programme of the Tenth World Harp Congress is extremely interesting and inspiring. I am happy that many renowned harpists have promised to play. Young talents and prize winners of the most prestigious harp competitions will enchant you with their concerts. You will hear new compositions, performers, instruments, and sounds from all over the world!

Amsterdam is a lively city with many fascinating spots to visit. Therefore I would highly recommend you to lengthen your stay to enjoy the Netherlands.
